Bear Grylls

He studied at Eton College and completed his Spanish studies at the University of London. He originally served as a paratrooper in the SAS Special Forces and subsequently led a series of ground-breaking expeditions to the most inhospitable parts of the world, raising millions of dollars for children's charities. At the age of twenty-three, he climbed Mount Everest, the youngest Briton ever to do so. Other successes soon followed: he circumnavigated Great Britain and the Arctic, dined in a hot air balloon at an altitude of 7,500 feet, flew in a paraglider over Angel Falls in Venezuela and also over the Himalayas.
Grylls' adventure TV shows are among the most watched in the world, with some 1.2 billion viewers in 200 countries. In addition, Bear Grylls is the author of fifteen books - his international bestseller Mud, Sweat and Tears (2011) has been translated into thirteen languages and was voted the most influential book of the year by the Chinese in 2012. It will be published in Czech by IOTA in the second half of 2018. He lives with his wife Shara and their three sons alternately on a river houseboat in London and on a remote island off the coast of Wales.
