Captain Corelli's Mandolin - Blu-ray

The idyllic beauty of the Greek coast has been shattered by war. Italian occupying forces have landed on the once peaceful island of Cephalonia. Captain Antonio Corelli (Nicolas Cage) and his men treat their stay on the island as a holiday, with the war just a radio call away.
Corelli, an officer of indomitable spirit, is passionately in love with his mandolin. At first, he alienates several villagers. He particularly irritates the village doctor, Iannis (John Hurt), and his beautiful, educated daughter Pelagia (Penélope Cruz), with whom Corelli is billeted during the occupation. However, with his charm, gentlemanly conduct, and his desire for the war to pass peacefully, Antonio eventually wins their friendship despite their initial animosity.
When Pelagia's fiancé, a local fisherman named Mandras (Christian Bale), leaves to fight with the partisans, the relationship between Corelli and Pelagia deepens. As the war draws closer, the lovers must choose between loyalty to their countries and their love for one another – an unyielding love that must overcome adversity and endure inevitable suffering.
