If you decide to bully a telekinetic, expect a terrifying retaliation.
Carrie White has had a tough life. She grew up without a father, under the oppressive supervision of her mother, a religious fanatic, and her high school classmates were not kind to her. The unfortunate girl became a mocked victim of other children, who often found no support even from adults. However, the truth about how "different" she really was only came out during the prom, when a cruel joke at her expense turned into a bloodbath. A tragic event that forever scarred the lives of the residents of Chamberlain, Maine, soon became the subject of an investigation, the conclusions of which the author presents to his readers at the same time as the story of Carrie herself - a girl endowed with telekinetic abilities who, due to unfortunate circumstances, turned into an angel of death.
The first published novel by the American master of horror has been adapted into several films, the most famous of which is Brian De Palma's film starring Sissy Spacek.
