Catalan language lexicon

The textbook contains a description of Catalan vocabulary supplemented by an attempt at a structurally functional interpretation of word types and their grammatical categories. Attention is paid to phonetics and phonology of contemporary Catalan, spelling, morphological paradigm (especially verbal), syntax and characteristics of dialectal variants. The author presents the norm of contemporary written Catalan and the basics of a structural-functional interpretation of the language. The final part of the book contains a characterization of the dialectal variants with textual examples and a brief description of the sociolinguistic situation of Catalan among the languages of today's Spain.
