Charles IV - The Cursed Inheritance

While Charles IV. constantly hoping that Anna Svídnická will give him the desired heir, the commander of his personal protective retinue Karel Rozoumek is about to give up his position at the imperial court. His wife Barborka has mysteriously disappeared with their child near Křivoklát, where she grew up, and he hopes to find out what happened to her. The search is taken up by Matouš Rozoumek, who wants his son to keep his special place alongside Luxemburg. However, Emperor Charles IV is also worried, as he would like to bequeath not only a prosperous Bohemia but also a strong Holy Roman Empire to his future son. However, he encounters resistance from the nobility, pursuing its own power goals. His brother Wenceslaus, ruling in Luxembourg, also has no difficulty in asserting his claim to the "cursed inheritance" of Brabant. Charles IV. here, for the first time, he encounters strong opposition from cities rich in international trade and a burgeoning textile industry.
