Charles Ray: Genius After Hours (Mono) - LP

The Genius After Hours is a 1961 album by Ray Charles. All of the included tracks were taken from the three studio sessions that produced The Great Ray Charles. This featured Charles' work in both trio and septet form, arranged by Quincy Jones. David "Fathead" Newman on tenor and alto saxophone, as well as trumpeter Joseph Bridgewater, also appear as guests on the album.

The brilliant singer, songwriter and musician was the main representative of soul music in the 1950s and a pioneer of the fusion of soul with rhythm'n'blues or gospel. Frank Sinatra called him "the only real genius in the music industry". He was mainly devoted to soul, jazz, blues, but also country.
