Cipa Carlos: Ourselves, As We Are - CD

The young German pianist and composer Carlos Cipa (born in 1990) has created a very intimate and intimate album in which the volume of the solo instrument is deliberately kept to the bare minimum. Instead, we have the opportunity to hear all the incidental "noises" of the piano playing, this time taken from extreme proximity. The music itself is rather emotional and almost relaxing in its sound, so there is no deep "soul baring" or inventive formal experiments. The recording was made in the course of a few weeks, basically as a "homemade" improvisation, and the final album retains this light impression.
