The second part of the detective series with Inspector Martin Servaz, which has become a bestselling sensation not only in France.

The apparent tranquillity of Marsac, a town in the Pyrenees known for its elite university, is shattered by the murder of one of its lecturers. A few days later, the body of a local dog breeder is found torn to pieces by his own animals. Who unleashed the madness of death in this picturesque place? Could the murders be the work of an escaped serial killer? While solving his second case, Commissioner Martin Servaz must delve deep into his own past and reopen old wounds. This search is gonna have a lot more victims.

Bernard Minier

Bernard Minier grew up in the south-west of France and spent his childhood in the Pyrenees. He studied at the University of Toulouse, where Martin Servaz, the protagonist of several of his thrillers, comes from. He has lived near Paris for more than twenty years, is married and has two children. Before Minier surprised French readers and critics in 2011 with his detective novel Frost, he worked as a customs officer. This belated, and perhaps therefore mature, debut won several awards, such as the Elle magazine Readers' Choice Award (in the mystery category) and, most notably, the Prix Polar, a major award given at the Cognac Festival of Detective Fiction. Frost has been translated into several world languages, including English, and was also the basis for the French television series Glacé. Minier's other books are also a success among readers and critics.
