Common sense

When I watch the official interpreters of the past today, at the age of 82, I feel like I' ve probably lived somewhere else.
My life was full of events that were often incomprehensible to the uninitiated reader today. Getting to know them would be interesting for people of my generation to compare with their own experiences, and younger people could read the story of a real person who lived a life full of twists and turns.
I had polio at the age of 11. Thanks to hot packs and special exercises, first in the hospital and later in Janské Lázně, I remained completely free of consequences after recovery. I described the course of treatment through the eyes of a little boy in my book I Had Polio.
My other experiences were often really interesting. I described the establishment of a collective farm in my hometown using permitted quotes from the chronicle of my hometown. I was studying in the very first year of the pedagogical institute. The content of our first two years together at this " college" was worthy of a cabaret, so we wrote it. I was an elementary school principal for 23 years (8 years before 1989, 15 years after). All my life I have followed the common sense I acquired in childhood.
