Cream: Wheels Of Fire (Remastered) (2x CD) - CD

Cream was an influential British band on the border between rock and blues from the second half of the 1960s.

“Wheels of Fire“ is the third album by the British band Cream. It consists of a studio album and a live part, recorded during a performance in San Francisco.

Particularly beneficial is the “living“, which shows what was the greatest strength of this group - complete freedom on stage, when the song always served only as a framework for blues-rock improvisation.

This is clearly evident in the recordings of the songs “Toad“ or “Spoonful“, which lasted for almost 17 minutes. However, not every improvisation has to work legally, as was the case especially in the second of the mentioned songs or in the introductory “Crossroads“.

The recordings “Traintime“ and “Toad“ are examples of the fact that even master carpenters get cut off. The studio album has a similar polarity. On the one hand, there are brilliant songs like “White Room“, “Born Under a Bad Sign“ or “Deserted Cities of the Heart“, on the other hand, the songs “Passing the Time“ or “As You Said“, which are among the weaker from the production of Cream.
