Cunning Philip - DVD

Tomáš Hanák stars as private detective Phil Marlow, who takes the law into his own hands in the harsh prairie of the big city.
He is an honest and cynical workhorse, toiling away on his cases which he solves after many mistakes, often battered and beaten by criminals, and not infrequently by the police. In this world of violence, mistrust, and corruption, everything is for sale. Everything except him.
The story is set in the city of Los Angeles in 1937.

The main storyline of this otherwise entertaining comedy and parody genre begins with the initially trivial and typically Chandleresque search for a missing person. Of course, the whole case is far more complicated, and Marlowe gradually unravels the entire tangled web of relationships and motives, bringing it to a successful conclusion.
