Danda is hungry

Seven-year-old Otík would love to have a pet, but his parents won't hear of it. Then, his great-aunt Vilemína brings him a carnivorous plant named Danda for his birthday. Otík starts to care for it like an animal, but the plant grows bigger, hungrier, and pickier. This leads to all sorts of trouble. The situation is becoming unbearable. This book by the acclaimed and successful Czech author is tailor-made for beginner readers, featuring simple, short sentences like those in a first reader, which nonetheless do not detract from the story's readability and humour.
