After nine steps we reached the end - right into the heart of Darkness. And it's fitting that we're greeted by an iconic author from Ireland named Bram Stoker.
Dracula's Guest is one of the stories published by his widow after his death. And even though the name of the Prince of Darkness is in the title, he doesn't actually appear on stage in person. Even Jonathan Harker, the real guest, doesn't get a seat. This short story is actually an introduction to the novel Dracula. It is a slightly revised version of one of the chapters of the famous novel, which had to be sacrificed during the preparation of Dracula for printing. The very last dark story is The Chamber in the Tower, written by the Englishman Edward Frederic Benson. A strange, oppressive atmosphere is breathed on you right from the beginning and gradually intensifies - through the recurring nightmares to the horrifying conclusion. Both stories are read in an unforgettable way by Petr Šmíd.
