The novel focuses on a relatively small group of characters connected by mutual ties of kinship and friendship. First and foremost are husband and wife Isabel and Dan and their children; Isabel's brother Robbie, Dan's brother Garth and his partner. As the world changes around them, family members go through the storms of growing up and growing old, falling in love and breaking up, and learning to move on. And covid, with all its implications, interferes in lives already complicated enough: isolation, which only exacerbates the problems, general mistrust and the threat of death. This fragile, intimate story, set between 2019 and 2021, is actually a masterful series of moments whose common denominator could be love during a pandemic.
