Disturbing, harsh and funny stories full of unusual situations and original humour read by the actors of Dejvice Theatre
The opera singer and director Líbezný will become a player in international business and politics. However, on the Nusel Bridge, he is about to commit an act that will end his suffering. Odongo, an 11-year-old African boy adopted from a distance by childless husband and wife Peter and Nicole, faces a firearm as he awaits the end of his life. They have all become cogs in a dirty game, plotted in the high floors of the Brussels bureaucracy.
The director of Dejvice Theatre, Krobot, under the weight of lack of funds, resorts with the entire ensemble to the bootleg sale of kitchen utensils in the style of "scumbags". Not that he, Odongo, Peter or Nikol, as well as the singer Líbezný could not have done it themselves...
All of Hübl's stories have ambiguous heroes, half negative, half positive, and always uncomfortably and intrusively close. It is a disturbing, harsh and entertaining read, because Hübl has an original sense of humour and an infectious appetite for inventing novel situations and connections.
