Death of a programmer

Three old-school detective novels. Three old-school detective novels in which detective Vašátko and his painter friend Horác unravel the drama of sisterly love, return to the post-war years in a mysterious castle and marvel at the poetry of everyday life. The fact that police officers work in pairs like partners is well known to every detective novel reader. Detective Vašátko is almost certainly the only police officer in the world whose partner is an academic painter. Opposites attract, and therefore exact, systematic and somewhat unfriendly Vašátko creates with unstable, intuitive and open to things between heaven and earth, the painter Horace created a pair so stable, that she appeared in several of the author' s books, television adaptations, even in radio plays. In three detective novels (Crooked Space, Ghost, Death of the Programmer), Vašátko and Horace unravel the drama of sisterly love, return to the post-war years in a mysterious castle, and marvel at the poetry of everyday life. In these old-school detective stories, people think more than they shoot, witness interviews take precedence over laboratory results, and it is shown time and again that the biggest mystery of every crime is the perpetrator himself.
