Diary of a castellan
The Castellan' s Diary was published fourteen years ago as Jan Bittner' s first work. Today, it can be admitted that the real name, with which the much better-known books The Last Aristocrat and The Boiling Aristocrat are also associated, is Evžen Boček. While in The Aristocrats the author was primarily concerned with entertaining the reader, his first work is from a different context, although the backdrops are the same, that is, a castle. The Castellan' s diary story is a one-session read. The disgusted hero leaves the big city and heads to the peaceful countryside to save his marriage and find the lost meaning of life. However, the castle surprises him from the very beginning — it reveals itself as a place of unexpected encounters, ancient and contemporary stories, and haunting scenes. Mysterious forces and a chain of tantalizing mysteries do not spare the castellan' s family either. Is human reason a sufficient weapon, or are there things between heaven and earth that must be reconciled with? The castellan may not find it, what is he looking for maybe he won' t get it, what do you wish for and maybe there is nothing, as you imagined. However, his stay within the walls of the mysterious castle reveals to him a form of life he had never known before.
