Disappeared Sumava

The book The Lost Šumava tells 21 stories about the life and places that you will no longer find on today's maps of Šumava. The fates of the inhabitants on the Czech-German border were mercilessly affected by the “great” history of the 20th century, first by the two world wars, then by the expulsion of the German population, the sealing of the border, and the creation of the Dobrá Voda military training area, for which forcibly displaced villages and settlements had to make way.
