Domino effect

< p> We can perceive Vokolka's Domino Effect as a sweeping novel canvas, as a colourful carnival, as a lavish feast of many courses. We can indulge in the tastes and smells of different genres, themes, languages and styles. We can enjoy the sheer joy of a lavish reading, of a journey through a story spread across several time zones and human destinies. In the world of this Vokolka novel, all boundaries are open, all colours, tastes and smells interact. Similarly to the author's almost two-decade-old prose The Road to Hell - which the Domino Effect loosely follows - the meaning dimension of the work is not divided into the so-called image of reality and the so-called dream. The past, present and future form a whole in which old wrongs and crimes cannot be escaped and in which the devil (whether in the guise of a clown or a cop) is always present; crazy burlesque is essentially the same as the most serious tragedy.
