Dragoun Roman: Samota - CD

The project “Samota” (Solitude), comprised of brand new songs, is a loose follow-up to the previous project “Piano”, which featured acoustic versions of Roman’s rock compositions.

On the album, he accompanies his singing on the piano, but other instruments also feature, particularly the saxophone of the phenomenal Michal Žáček. However, the acoustic, almost folk-like, and more communicative interpretation of the songs is preserved.

The music is the original work of Roman Dragoun, and the lyrics are penned by lyricist and poet Milan Princ. The album also includes a lyric-poem by Roman's father, the painter František Roman Dragoun, and a lyric by Brno-based lyricist Soňa Smetanová.

The recording was made at Avian studio, with sound engineering by Roman Jež, himself an excellent keyboard player. The project was produced by Pavel Kopřiva, who also contributed to several of Roman Dragoun's earlier titles.
