Electronic: Electronic - LP

The eponymous debut album by the British group Electronic, formed by Bernard Sumner of New Order and Johnny Marr of The Smiths. The album was released in 1991 on the Factory label, which also released records by New Order and Joy Division. The album was a great commercial and critical success, reaching number two on the official UK albums chart. It sold over a million copies worldwide. This reissue comes with a special black cover!

The Electronic project brought together two prominent British musicians – singer and guitarist Bernard Sumner from New Order and guitarist Johnny Marr from The Smiths. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe from Pet Shop Boys and Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk also contributed to the Manchester group's music. The supergroup was born in 1988 when a frustrated Sumner intended to record a solo album, but realised during preparations that he didn't want to do it alone. He approached Marr, with whom he had collaborated in the past. The debut single 'Getting Away With It' broke into the US Top 40, and Electronic subsequently supported the famous Depeche Mode on their North American tour in 1990. They released three studio albums.
