Elena knows.
Rita was found hanged in the church bell tower. It was raining that day. The case was closed as a suicide, but her mother knows her daughter didn't kill herself. She knows Rita would never have gone to the church during a storm. She knows that Rita's father once told her the church was like a local lightning rod. And since then, she had never gone near the church when it was raining. She even became so afraid that she stopped going out at all during storms. But her mother, Elena, has Parkinson's, and nobody wants to listen to her. Rita would only have gone to the church if she was more afraid of something else than the lightning, she repeats to the police. But from the police and the justice system, she is met with nothing but buck-passing. After all, the case was closed; it was a suicide. Her condition is getting worse, she mixes up words, she forgets things. But every now and then, out of nowhere, she remembers things that could help the investigation.
