Ten-year-old Dominik loves numbers. They don't lie, they have clear rules, and they lead to a result. From the day he found out his dad would never come home again, he has perceived the world around him as a mathematical word problem, and he is looking for a solution. Meanwhile, relatives are gathering in the house like the animals in the fairytale about the lost mitten, which his six-year-old sister Ema has become fixated on.
