Endless night

Endless night: Agatha Christie's psychological thriller

Some are born for love's sweet power, others are born for the endless night.
What has fate assigned to Ellie Goodman, the dizzyingly wealthy heiress who decided to marry Michael Rogers, a totally inappropriate match from the perspective of her guardians? What fate awaits Michael, who longs for a beautiful house? And what did fate bestow upon Greta Anderson, who helped her charge Ellie escape the golden cage? A shadow has been hovering over their lives from the beginning - the place called Gypsy Grove, where the Rogerses settle after their wedding, is said to be cursed...
Agatha Christie considered The Endless Night to be her favourite novel. The story is more psychological this time, reminiscent of the Noir style. Christie finished Endless Night in six weeks, while most of her other novels took three to four months to write.
Although she was over seventy years old when she wrote it, she said in an interview that being Michael, a twenty-year-old narrator, "wasn't hard. After all, you hear people like him talking all the time".
