Thank you for your interest in the course English Vocabulary for Intermediate B1_Part 1. The course is designed for intermediate students who have already studied English for one or two years and have mastered its basics. The course is based on contextual learning, which means that you will learn not only vocabulary words but also sentences in which you can use them. Because of its size, it is divided into two parts and you are reading the introduction to the first part. In total, you will find 2000 words and sentences to practice. The individual lessons are divided by topic and each contains a different number of words and sentences. Level B1 is intermediate, therefore most of the space is devoted to topics like work, Features, Activities, while topics like travel, free time, family are included to a lesser extent, as they were given more space in the previous part of the course How to work best with the course? Choose the lesson you want to start with. Each lesson contains six tracks. First, for each lesson, familiarize yourself with the vocabulary itself (clues 1 and 2). This is followed by a verb and an example sentence, again in both translation options (tracks 3 and 4). Then move on to full sentences (track 5 and 6). If you can translate sentences from Slovak into English (Lesson 6) in the time gap before the English translation, you have won. The words themselves will help you understand the meaning, but using mastered complete sentences will help you communicate much better.
