Ensiferum: Thalassic deluxe limited digipak

Music CD Ensiferum are a powerhouse when it comes to folk-inspired melodic death metal, and their eighth studio album Thalassic is convincing proof of this. The title is derived from the ancient Greek term for something that originates from or relates to the sea, which is why the songs are as vast as they are expansive, with familiar combinations of orchestral bombast and traditional acoustic instrumentation clashing with distorted guitars, bass, and drums. "I think we have evolved a bit further musically, but at the same time we have kept the best elements of our previous sound," says bassist and vocalist Sami Hinkka.
