Even the gods need hope. The powerful fight for control of the known world, while magic becomes more and more erratic. Every good deed is deservedly punished, and noble intentions are trampled under a layer of treachery and misunderstanding. Arumiel's plans are slowly falling apart and the vultures are already circling to grab their share. While the great saviour is still the master of many lives, which he can easily let die out on a mere whim, the blind obedience of his subjects has long since been a matter of course. Too many have lost faith and are being lured by the vision of possible freedom. The question is what will be the proverbial last straw that will push those who have remained silent over the edge. What truth must be revealed? And who has to die for that? Any more of Arumiel's decisions could doom Ler for good. Or to actually bring him to salvation.
