NOT EVEN SNOW CAN COVER LONG-FORGOTTEN WRONGS…
The year is 1599. A bitter frost grips Prague, and snow has covered the streets and roofs of the houses. While winter slows the spread of the plague, Knight Jakub Jelínek of Hiršberg is awaiting the birth of his first child. However, the peace does not last long. His sister Kateřina, from whom he was estranged by past disputes, re-enters his life. This time, however, she is asking for his help—someone is trying to deprive her of the family fortress, Hiršberg.
Jakub reluctantly begins an investigation that leads him into a world of property disputes, forged documents, and ruthless people willing to risk everything for another's property. While he encounters the indifference of officials and faces attacks from hired bandits, he uncovers clues leading to secrets that were meant to remain hidden forever.
The deeper he delves into his own family's past, the clearer it becomes that the dispute over Hiršberg is not just an ordinary fight for property. Behind the false documents and hatred lies an ancient betrayal, the consequences of which could threaten not only his sister but everyone he cares about.
