Fany - DVD

The title heroine of the film by screenwriter Jiří Hubač and director Karel Kachyna is a weak-minded 50-year-old woman who, after years spent safely with her older relatives, gets into the care of her older sister, an energetic and inaccessible primary. The coexistence of both lonely women is accompanied by numerous small quarrels, but also moments of mutual understanding and simple human happiness.
Under the influence of a nurse, the doctor loses her protective layer and becomes more sensitive to events and the people around her. Fany, on the other hand, lives in her own world, in which television commercials, housework and a nearby church and a great love for animals are enough for her satisfaction.

Jiřina Bohdalová was awarded the Czech Lion in 1995 for her portrayal of the title role.
