Fate loves me

Excerpt from Fate Loves Me:

"I'm going to have a baby."
My father threw himself violently from the table. The kicked chair clattered to the floor with a crash.
"Say it again!" he yelled.
"I'm going to have a baby, but don't ask me about the father, Daddy," she said as pleasantly as possible.
"So you've got a bastard, and you're still going to dictate the terms, you slut! You're just like my mother! I'd like you to...!"
He waved his raised arm vigorously, indicating a slap, but he didn't hit Daniel. His face was bronzed and he was breathing heavily, with loud wheezing. Then he picked up the overturned chair, sat down heavily on it and muttered hoarsely: "You're not my daughter, you're not my daughter anymore..."
