Five Weeks in a Balloon

It tells the story of the explorer, Dr Fergusson, who, along with a few others, embarks on a scientific expedition in a balloon. Their main goal is to study the then-called "dark continent" of Africa, about which very little was known. The mission is not without its obstacles, as they must endure windless days, face conflicts with native peoples and even attempt to escape a military army. Will the balloon carry them safely home, or will their expedition be doomed to failure? Are their perseverance and determination enough to find solutions, or are there higher powers watching over them?
