On the complexity and fragility of the modern relationship between men and women
Bára and Filip. Two young people like so many others. They'll get together on Tinder. First they write to each other, get to know each other, hesitate. The traumas of previous partnerships mingle with the desire to finally discover true love. Both have had a number of relationships and promising careers.
They want to settle down slowly and maybe even start a family. But since they can't look to their parents for guidance, they have no choice but to forge their own path. They take full advantage of the opportunities that today's world offers them. At the same time, however, they have to submit to social patterns that complicate their lives and make them vulnerable. The fragility of one's own identity, despite all rational attitudes and technical conveniences, is one of the key metaphors of a partnership.
What does it mean to be a man and a woman today? Can these roles continue to be fulfilled at all? A social novel about the lives of contemporary thirty-somethings, it asks a number of fundamental questions.
