Frederick Marryat: Helmsman Vlnovsky

Marryat's story is a classic Robinson Crusoe. The family of the esteemed Mr Rolemil, with four children and a black nanny, sail on a merchant ship from Europe to Australia. In a storm in the Indian Ocean, the ship is damaged and the crew abandon the wreck, leaving the family on board. The only one, who's still on the sinking ship, is old sailor Vlnovsky, a model of fidelity, honesty, of wisdom and kindness?
