Freedom Call: M.E.T.A.L. Clr

LP Record Freedom Call have a double celebration on their hands: this summer, the band, fronted by singer and guitarist Chris Bay, will not only mark their 20th anniversary but also the release of their tenth studio album, aptly named M.E.T.A.L. Ever since their 1999 debut, Stairway To Fairyland, this southern German band has been a symbol of anthemic melodic metal, known for its catchy tunes, fast grooves, and atmospheric messages with optimistic lyrics. All this and much more can be found on M.E.T.A.L., an utterly compelling work with an unusual title that, according to Bay, "should certainly be taken with a pinch of salt. Everyone knows we don't necessarily play ultra-grim death metal."
