Margaret Atwood
Margaret Eleanor Atwood was born in Ottawa in 1939. She has deservedly received numerous literary awards for her work, including the Franz Kafka Prize, and is considered the most important Canadian writer of our time. She has published more than thirty-five books, the most famous of which is probably The Handmaid's Tale (Argo 2017), which was made into a film and a successful television series. Her other most notable novels include The Edible Woman, The Blind Assassin, Surfacing, and Cat's Eye, which was nominated for the Booker Prize in 1988.
