The legendary rock band from San Francisco was formed in 1965 and is one of the fundamental representatives of the golden age of rock music. At the turn of the sixties and seventies, she became famous for her long and wild improvisations during concert performances. She has worked with influences from a wide range of musical styles, from rock and psychedelia, through folk and bluegrass, to gospel, jazz and reggae. They split up in 1995, when the band's leader, guitarist and singer, Jerry Garcia, died. In 2007, the band received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.
