Greek Zorba - Blu-ray

Basil, a young English writer of Greek descent, arrives in Crete to resume mining in the lignite mine he inherited. Along the way, he meets the Greek Zorba, an independent man whose independence is not based on the size of wealth, but on the size of spirit. The film' s greatest experience is Anthony Quinn' s Dionysian performance as Zorba. Quinn demonstrates the valeries of his masterful acting, finding green palms of happiness in the wastelands of despair. The film won in 1965 three Oscars (Lila Kedrová for the supporting female role, Walter Lassaly for the camera and Vassilis Photopoulos for decoration).
