Gustav Meyrink: Vaporized Brain

A mysterious, almost oppressive short story by a German writer influenced by the atmosphere of old Prague, especially the Prague Jewish ghetto. Gustav Meyrink's short story The Vaporized Brain features many prominent actors, not only in radio work. From a translation by František Marek, it was dramatised and directed by Jan Žáček in the early 1990s, who cast Jiri Bartoska, Jan Hartl, Josef Somr, Jiří Hálek, Ilya Rack and Václav Slup. The mysterious atmosphere, which the Austrian author with his affectionate relationship to Prague was able to create, can be enjoyed in a dramatised multi-voice form.
