Hamnet
The couple, who lived in Henley Street, Stratford, in the 1880s, had three children, the elder Susanna and younger twins Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died in 1596 at the age of eleven. About four years later his father wrote the play Hamlet. Hamnet is inspired by the life of the famous playwright. It is a story about the bond between twins and a marriage marked by grief. And also about an extraordinary woman, whose name is usually mentioned only in passing, about fleas, which will embark at Alexandria, and the son of a glover, who defies convention for the woman he loves. Most of all, though, it is a tender and unforgettable tale of a boy almost forgotten but whose name lingers in one of the most famous plays in literary history. < br> < br> Women' s Prize for Fiction 2020 < br> < br> National Book Critics Circle Award 2020 < br> < br> The British bestseller of 2020.
