Happily ever after

Tegan is dead. She’s sixteen, dead, and standing in the car park of the rather depressing Marybelle Motel, where she spent the worst weekend of her life. At reception, she meets Zelda, a cute and sarcastic girl who is actually an angel (she even has wings!). According to Zelda, Tegan is in heaven, where everyone inhabits an exact copy of their happiest memory. Zelda insists that Marybelle is the right place for Tegan—but looking at the terrifying mini-golf course, the disgusting breakfast buffet, the broken television, and other horrors, that’s hard to believe. If Zelda fails to convince Tegan, both girls face terrible consequences. But if she succeeds, they might just live happily ever… after death. Recommended for ages 13+.
