Havel - DVD

What would you sacrifice for truth and love?

A drama inspired by the life and personal development of Václav Havel, a leading Czech playwright, dissident, and president.

The feature film Havel tells the story of one of the most prominent figures in our history, Václav Havel, during his dissident years before he became a famous public figure. The film focuses on Havel's transformation from a successful – and later banned – playwright in the late sixties to a human rights activist in the seventies, and finally to the leader of the Velvet Revolution, president of a free Czechoslovakia, and a global icon.

All of this is interwoven with his unique private life and absurd humour, which makes the film Havel a rewarding viewing experience.
