Havelka Ondřej: Saturnin - CD

Jirotek's play Saturnin about a peculiar servant and the merry adventures of a family was freely dramatised by Martin Vačkář in collaboration with director Havelka. His popular Melody Makers orchestra, which brilliantly interprets popular swing tunes of the 1930s and 1940s, will this time also provide live musical accompaniment on stage. The author of the theatrical adaptation, Martin Vačkář, approached Jirotka's novel with the necessary inventiveness and humility. Its transcription, enriched with catchy period music, thus contains all the key scenes of the affectionate story. It is set in a peaceful first-republic idyll by a first innocent and then adventurously swollen river.
