The next volume in a loose trilogy by the bestselling author of Friends and Lovers and Fire and Water
Passion and betrayal in the middle of frozen northern Sweden. A modern romance set in a modern women's milieu.
The phenomenal success of her three-volume series of novels for women has made Ahrnstedt a major spokesperson in Sweden for the genre of modern romance and for writers writing about women for women. In 2018, she was nominated for the Readers' Choice Award for Best Romance in Germany for Heat and Ice, the final volume of a loose trilogy.
Ambra Vinter dreams of a great career at a major Swedish daily newspaper, where she has been working for several years as a regular journalist. For work, he arrives just before Christmas in his hometown of Kiruna in the very north of Sweden. It is a second-rate, uninteresting task and Kiruna is perhaps the darkest place in the world in December. Ambra's memories of her horrible experiences as a child in foster care add to this. Yet it is here that she meets a man she is strongly attracted to.
Tom Lexinton left the Army Special Forces to become a security expert. However, he is still plagued by nightmares from his last mission in Chad, where he almost lost his life, and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He is also haunted by a vain longing for Ellinor, who broke his heart. His meeting with Ambra brings the promise of light and radiance into his life - if only he would dare to leave everything that troubles him behind.
Ambra is forced to confront her painful past and uncovers a story that may unexpectedly become a national scoop. She and Tom must decide whether to give their relationship a chance.
