In 1929, sixteen-year-old Katya is surrounded by her family and is in love. But when Stalin's supporters arrive in her village, her life begins to change. Neighbours who refuse collectivisation disappear without a trace, and each new day brings uncertainty. Survival becomes increasingly difficult due to a severe lack of food, yet even in the darkest of times, there is a glimmer of hope.
