Higher Power - DVD

An avalanche exposes a family’s shaky foundations.

What can an avalanche trigger, even when it seemingly causes no harm? A peaceful family holiday for a Swedish couple and their two children at a luxury resort takes a dramatic turn after the father reacts cowardly in a crisis, abandoning his family to a potential tragedy. One instinctive decision unleashes an avalanche of arguments and disagreements that threaten a real catastrophe.

With ruthless sarcasm and directness, Swedish filmmaker and sociologist Ruben Östlund puts the traditional family model to the test. He poses questions to the audience for which there are no easy answers.
