Hildegard of Bingen

When Hildegard becomes the new mother superior after the death of Abbess Jutta von Sponheim, she faces a difficult task. She must not only convince the church dignitaries that her visions are not the whispers of the devil but come from God, but also improve the conditions of the nuns. On her arduous journey, she is accompanied by the devoted monk Volmar, the energetic nun Richardis, the young stewardess Elizabeth, and the knight Sieger von Wawra. They all stand faithfully behind their beloved abbess and help her build a new, independent convent.
