Holy Island
The top bestseller on Amazon UK...
After solving a particularly brutal case, Detective Chief Inspector Ryan is forced to leave the murder squad and escapes to the Holy Island in search of his lost inner peace. However, a few days before Christmas, his apparent tranquillity is shattered, and he is thrown back into the dark world of crime when a young woman is found dead among the ancient ruins of a nearby priory.
At the same time, Dr Anna Taylor, who grew up on the island, returns to work as a police consultant. During the investigation into the murder, which has ritualistic elements, old memories surface, forcing her to confront her difficult past. She works all the more diligently with Ryan to track down the elusive killer hiding in plain sight. Murder and mystery are spiced with just the right amount of romance in this fast-paced detective story set on the picturesque, history-steeped Northumbrian island of Lindisfarne, cut off from the English mainland by a tidal causeway.
