Hunchbacked souls

The audiobook Hrbaté duše (Hunched Souls), written by Lenka Chalupová and narrated by Zuzana Ščerbová. TWO FAMILIES, TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS AND A TIME THAT BROKE EVEN THE STRONGEST Bochoř near Přerov, 1941 and 1942. In the spa village, the fates of two men intertwine – Ambrož Ptáček, who has left his family for a fickle love, and Dezider Horvát, the patriarch of a Romani family seeking safety during the Nazi occupation. While Mayor Lanč tries to protect the village from Nazi decrees, someone is gleefully writing denunciations and adding fuel to the fire of mistrust. Ambrož's wife, Máří, is also fighting through these difficult times, trying to find the strength to keep a home for her children despite her crumbling marriage.
