A poem from the correspondence and memoirs of writers Arnošt Lustig and Ota Pavel. The Twinning of Arnošt Lustig and Ota Pavel. They were each other's protectors and critics, indulgent colleagues and loyal comrades. They both worked together in the 1950s in the editorial office of Czechoslovak Radio, took trips together with their families, read manuscripts, and helped each other - especially when the mental crisis was weighing heavily on Ota Pavel. And they had a continuous creative dialogue with each other, which was not interrupted even by Lustig's emigration after 1968. Ota Pavel sent long typed letters to his friend Arnošt in emigration, after reading which Lustig always declared: "I've read beautifully. " Only the sudden death of Ota Pavel in March 1973 became a certain turning point in the story of their friendship.
