Can a reformed villain still be fun? When he's telling bedtime stories? When he's worried about his eldest daughter's innocence? When he no longer wants to steal anything at all?

Fortunately, Gru doesn't end up as an ordinary civilian, because deep down he still possesses skills that some would love to exploit. Like the head of the powerful Anti-Villain League, Silas Ramsbottom (don't comment on the surname, he doesn't like it). Although Silas deeply despises villains of all kinds, who can get inside the mind of a bad guy better than a former bad guy? So, he sends his best agent, Lucy Wilde, to persuade Gru to cooperate. She succeeds with the help of a lipstick taser, and Gru begins to do good in his old age. He'll soon have his hands full, because a particularly cunning villain, Eduardo, has appeared on the Anti-Villain League's radar, the Minions have started disappearing inexplicably, Margo is falling head over heels, Edith remains as dangerous as ever, and Agnes is trying everything to find a mum for her dad. And that might just be the biggest threat of all for Gru in the end.
